Our Mission

We Exist to Know Jesus More & Make Jesus Known

Our Story

Sun City Baptist Church officially launched on May 9th, 2023, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in the heart of El Paso. What began as a vision to plant a church from the ground up has grown into a passionate and welcoming community centered on Jesus.

We know that stepping into something new can bring both excitement and uncertainty—but no matter your background or story, you are welcome here. At Sun City, we’re a group of people who have been radically changed by the Gospel and are committed to showing and telling that message to others.

Though we’re all still a work in progress, we’re walking this journey together. Whether church is brand new to you or you’ve been part of one your whole life, there’s a spot for you at Sun City. This is just the beginning, and we’re grateful to have you with us.

Our Core Values

TRUTH

We want to lead people to the truth of Jesus by teaching and applying every book of the Bible.

Family

We want to cultivate meaningful relationships where we love, care for, and encourage each other to grow in Christ.

Worship

We want to facilitate a God- focused gathering that leads to Spirit-filled Living (Powerful Music, Passionate Prayer, and Purposeful Preaching).

Generosity

We want to sacrificially give of our time, resources and abilities so that the Gospel can go forward.

Unity

We want to stand together as One in Christ to fulfill His mission through us.

Multiply

We want to impact lives in our community and around the world by sharing and showing the Gospel Message of Jesus.

Forward

We want to train and equip the next generation to carry on the Mission of Jesus.

Doctrine

We self identify as an independent Baptist church, which means we are unaffiliated with any particular convention or official denomination. Generally speaking, we hold to the traditional and historic Christian belief.

We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be the verbally and plenary inspired words of God. Therefore, we believe the Bible is without error, infallible, and is authoritative in doctrine and is the final authority for faith and practice.

We believe in one Triune God, eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – each co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections. God has revealed Himself to man, including His natural and moral attributes, through both general and special revelation.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, born of the virgin Mary. He is God in the flesh, and lived a sinless life on earth. His voluntary, substitutional death on the cross made full atonement for the sins of the whole world.  His bodily resurrection and ascension secure an eternal home in heaven for all that are in Christ. He is returning to rapture His saints, judge the world, and set up His Millennial Kingdom on earth.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Godhead.  He was active in the creation and inspiration of the Scriptures and in the lives of the Old Testament believers and the life of Christ.  The Holy Spirit is directly involved in the life of the believer through salvation and sanctification.

We believe that salvation is the free and gracious gift of God, available to all mankind, whereby He restores sinful men to a right relationship with Himself on the basis of the finished work of Christ.

We believe that the next event in fulfillment of prophecy is the imminent two-fold return of Christ.  First, He will return for His Bride at the Rapture of the church, before the Great Tribulation to judge the saints.  Second, He will return at the end of the Great Tribulation to set up His Millennial Kingdom, which will end with the Great White Throne Judgment.  Finally, after casting Satan into the Lake of Fire, He will create a new heaven and a new earth.

Heaven?

People are dying. People are dying without knowing what their eternal destiny will be. That’s right, and one day death will come knocking at your door. The question is, where will you spend eternity?
